Twist of Tale v2
Nicholas Ilechie / / 1 min read

Some say if you love someone,
never let them go.
Others say if you love someone,
let them go.
The world can't even agree on love.
The poor spit on the rich, branding them selfish hoarders.
The rich sneer at the poor, calling them lazy leeches.
Both convinced they’re right.
Both blind in their pride.
The non-religious mock the believers,
fanatics, they call them.
The religious damn the unbelievers,
infidels, they call them.
Both clinging to certainty.
Both rotting in their own dogmas.
And it gets even uglier,
even within the faithful, there's division.
Brother against brother, doctrine against doctrine.
Each side screaming holiness while secretly craving power.
The world is madness stitched together by fragile egos.
A carnival of fools chasing answers they’ll never find.
And the few who dare seek the truth...
they are left to drown in the silence of too many lies.
I wandered those crooked roads.
I swallowed the bitterness.
I tasted the futility.
And when the darkness almost swallowed me whole…
He called my name.
