Love

Love - What is it to you?

Is it the thrills of flirting
Or the ecstatic feeling from sex
Is it the butterflies in your tummy
Or the saying of the words “I love you”
Is it the flowers, expensive dates, or the endless gifts...

Though these are all part of it as everyone has their definition and view of love but here's mine.

Love isn't a feeling, nor the thrills...
It is a decision, a commitment you choose to stand firmly on against the odds, trials, and tribulations that will surely arise.

Love is doing the best for another even when they aren't aware of it.

Love is supporting your partner to achieve a dream even if they do not appreciate your support as you would deem fit.

Love is being there and helping your partner even if they aren't aware of your presence.

Love is sticking to your partner even in times when they disappoint you.

Love is staying committed and accepting your partner not solely for their perfections but also for their imperfections.

Love is always desiring to fix a problem in times of dispute rather than backing out and running away.

Love is endless forgiveness for a wrong that hurts.

Love is trusting your partner enough to tell them all your secrets and fears even though you may be ashamed of it.

Love is seeking growth and compromise over separation.

Love is knowing all about your partner including the shameful and terrible things of their pasts yet being willing to stay with them.

Love is selfless and does not seek what's in for me.

Love gives even when the receiver may be undeserving of it.

Love does not seek rewards.

Love holds no pride nor grudge.

Concluding in the words of Paul from the book of the Corinthians;
Love is patient and kind;
love does not envy or boast;
it is not arrogant or rude.

It does not insist on its own way;
it is not irritable or resentful;
it does not rejoice at wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth.

Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things.

Love never ends...

As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away.”

but Love never ends...

The flirting will cease at some point
The sex will become boring at some point
The physical beauty may fade
The butterflies may soon be lost
Memories may be forgotten
Trials and tribulations may last a while
Seasons and time will change feelings

But Love? LOVE Fights all and remains, love stays...

It takes courage to love and not always will your love be reciprocated in the same manner but it's always worth it to have a loving heart, for what is life without Love?

Some say if you love someone let them go, but this isn't the complete truth.

If you truly love someone then you help them grow and only after doing your best to the trueness of your heart and ensuring they are the ones being resentful and further drifting away should you let them go.

Happier are they who love and are loved back - Truly it is a gift from God.
